Wednesday, Mar. 4 at 7 pm - The Status of River Otters on Long Island featuring Mike Bottini, veteran naturalist, writer, and environmental consultant, discussing his research on where and how many river otters may still be on Long Island. Mike - We have been experiencing a very frigid winter the last three week. Today is the first time we have 40+, mostly 10s and 20s. I envy you guys out there in Arizona. But spring sure is coming soon, I hope. Then I can go out and garden.
The consecration of the slaves graves at Youngs was the most touching scene I witnessed in all of my 40 years as superintendent of this lovely cemetery. The purple shadows on the snow,the soft heart felt notes of the spiritual songs and the simple yet majestic words by the Reverend completed the picture...after 350 years a blank page in local history was fulled with love and devotion....
