HOMES FOR SALE IN LAUREL HOLLOW, NY - MARCH 30, 2011

 

There are 44 homes for sale in Laurel Hollow, NY as of March 30, 2011 with price tag from $999,000 to almost 10 million dollars.  Since the beginning of 2011, four homes sold compared to eight homes sold in 2010.  Average median price in 2011 is down from $2,123,500 in 2010 to $1,114,250 in 2011.  Average days on the market is a better in 2011 at 60 days compared to 115 days in 2010.

Laurel Hollow, NY in the township of Oyster Bay is a beautiful village with magnificent homes on large wooded acreage.  It is located between the waterfront villages of Cold Spring Harbor and Oyster Bay Cove.  The school district is partly Oyster Bay, Syosset and Cold Spring Harbor.  Likewise, the post office is serviced by Oyster Bay 11771, Syosset 11791 or Cold Spring Harbor 11724.  Laurel Hollow is a very private enclave, strictly a residential community.  There is no business establishment in the village.  People shop in nearby towns, either in Oyster Bay, Cold Spring Harbor, Syosset or Huntington. 

Laurel Hollow,NY is mostly hilly with an abundance of specimen trees and understory of mountain laurel hence the name.  The most well known resident was Louis Comfort Tiffany who built Laurelton Hall.  Louis C. Tiffany is credited with the stained glass windows, Tiffany lamp and iridescent Tiffany vases.

OYSTER BAY CONDOS/COOPS FOR SALE - March 23, 2011

 

For people who want to live in Oyster Bay, NY but do not want the maintenance of a single family home in Oyster Bay, there are plenty of choices in the village of Oyster.  Buying condos, co-ops or townhouses in Oyster Bay are the best choices.  There are five areas in Oyster Bay where you can buy condos, co-ops or townhouses at all price ranges.  Right now, there are 17 condos/co-ops/townhouses for sale in Oyster Bay. 

Lexington Estates is on Lexington Ave., Oyster Bay.  It is the second driveway on your left from Hess Gas Station at the corner of Lexington Ave and Route 106.  Lexington Estates are coops.  At Lexington Estates in Oyster Bay, there are 4 coops for sale.  Price ranges from $129,000 for 1 BR, 1 Bath to $239,000 for a 2 BRs, 1 Bath coop.  These coops were built in the 60s.

Landmark Colony is few feet down the road on Lexington Ave., Oyster Bay and they are condos. We have 4 units for sale at Landmark Colony ranging from $519,000 to $629,000.  They are all 2 BRs, 2.5 Baths condo.  This condo was built in 80s.  In the center of this development is a Queen Anne's style home called Derby Estate which was once the home of Ethel Roosevelt Derby, the younger daughter of President Theodore Roosevelt.  

Top of the Harbour is further down the road.  Top of the Harbour can be accessed either from Lexington Ave or Mill River Rd in Oyster Bay.  Year ago, these are regular apartments then they turned into coops.   There are 5 coops for sale at Top of the Harbor, 3 on Anchorage Ln. and 2 on Harbour Ln.  Prices range from $219,000 to $299,000.   These coops were built in the 60s and 70s.

Mariners Walk, on South Street is the most recently constructed townhouses in Oyster Bay built in 2008.  There are only 3 units for sale at Mariners' Walk ranging in price from $565, 000 to $649,000.  They are all 2 BRs and 2.5 Baths.  Mariners' Walk townhouses are on three floors.  There is a clubhouse for homeowners' use. 

Fieldstone is another development which is on the high end of the group.  It is located on Berry Hill Rd., next to the late Oleg Cassini's estate.  They were constructed in the 90s.  There is 1 townhouse on the market priced at $1,099,000.      

All these condos/coops/townhouses in Oyster Bay, NY are within walking distance to the village, shops, restaurants, the beach and the Oyster Bay train station.

Spring is here and time to get out of hibernation and start enjoying all the activities that Oyster Bay town has to offer its residents.  As a service to Oyster Bay-East Norwich community and its neighboring villages - Brookville, Muttontown, Oyster Bay Cove, Bayville, Locust Valley, Syosset, Laurel Hollow, Centre Island and Mill Neck, here is a list of events for you to participate. Mark your calendar and try to fit few if not all of the following events in Oyster Bay into your schedule.
