BROOKVILLE, NY HOMES FOR SALE - APRIL 18, 2010

Brookville, NY is one of those villages that connotes luxury living. Houses in this enclave of the North Shore of Long Island start at over $1 million and go all the way to almost $13 million. As of April 18, 2010, according to the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island, there are 31 homes for sale in Brookville with Jericho schools and 3 homes for sale in Brookville with Locust Valley schools. Various architectural styles are represented. There are 14 colonials, 5 contemporary, 1 expanded ranch, 1 farm ranch, 5 post modern, 2 ranch, 2 split, 3 estate and 1 other.

During the heyday of the Gold Coast era, this area of the North Shore is a playground for the old money and the aspiring nouveau riche. Big mansions were scattered all over the place with sprawling lawns and a whole cadre of help to maintain these opulent estates. Most of the properties now are on two acres.

Brookville, NY is located south of Muttontown, north of Jericho, west of Syosset and east of Greenvale and Old Westbury. EAST NORWICH HOMES SALE FOR 1ST QTR 2010 ON THE UPSWING

Sales of homes in East Norwich, NY for the 1^st Quarter of 2010 are amazingly on the upswing. As of March 31, 2010, there were 4 homes sold in East Norwich, NY compared to 2 homes sold in East Norwich for the same period in 2009. Besides the homes sold during the first quarter of 2010, there are 6 homes under contract as of March 31, 2010, one of them closed on the first week of April, 2010.

In 2009, Days on the market is 50 days while in 2010, days on the market increased to 94 days. Listing price on average increased by 15% while selling price on average increased by 17% from last year. However, the sold price this year is about 7% off the listing price which proves that most of the listings sold are priced about right.
